Citing court documents, Radar Online uncovered a significant creditor’s claim against Anne Heche’s estate regarding unpaid credit card bills. AscensionPoint Recovery Services, representing Citibank, reportedly lodged the claim. Anne apparently had a balance of $36,131.35 at the time of her passing, which remains outstanding.
This lien follows a previous claim by Anne’s ex-partner, Thomas Jane, adding to the complexities surrounding the estate’s financial affairs. Jane says he lent Heche nearly $150,000, which she never paid back despite agreeing to make $10,000 monthly payments before her death.
It was recently reported that Anne’s son, Homer, assumed responsibility for managing her estate. Court documents reveal Homer discovered uncashed residual checks valued at $34,000, originating from Disney, NBC, GEP Talent Services, Warner Bros. Television, Paramount Pictures, and other entities. Additionally, Anne left behind a bank account holding $76,000.
Homer has told the court he’s had trouble establishing the full scope of his mother’s estate, including assets, given that she had various source of incomes and royalties, yet was also known for financial disorganization. Heche’s estate allegedly has $6 million in creditor claims against it.
Homer recently asked for more time sorting out his mother’s estate, to which he and his younger brother are both beneficiaries.
“[Homer is] actively engaged in attempts to negotiate appropriate settlement of the claims against the Estate, and has engaged in substantial meet and confer efforts with the creditors in an attempt to avoid protracted and expensive litigation against the Estate. Administrator is cautiously optimistic that the creditor claims can all be resolved fairly and without litigation,” his court filing explained.
On August 14, 2022, Heche tragically lost her life due to injuries sustained in a car accident in Los Angeles earlier that month, which had left her in critical condition. Initially, reports suggested she was under the influence of substances; however, the medical examiner later determined that there was no evidence of impairment by illicit substances at the time of the accident.
Heche’s net worth was once rumored to be $4 million, though it may have dwindled to as little as $400,000 before her death.
